Dear Washington Technology Magnet School Families,

We are writing to make you aware of a serious incident that happened in the parking lot during school today. We received a report of shots being fired outside on school property. We followed our protocol and immediately placed our building in a “Secure” protocol (learn more about our security protocol language here). All entrances remained locked. The Saint Paul Police Department responded to assist our district Security and Emergency Management staff.

We will continue to keep you informed as much as possible. This is an active police investigation.

Our staff is committed to keeping Washington a safe place to learn, while also limiting interruptions during the school day. If you have any questions or other concerns about our school, please call the school at 651-293-8830. Thank you for supporting your child, Washington and Saint Paul Public Schools.

In Partnership,
