Washington and Como Bands Hold Joint Performance at Football Game

A group of people, mostly young students, gathered outdoors in front of a building, wearing purple and yellow shirts and holding various items, with a large tree in the background.

On Saturday, September 27, the Washington High School and Como Park High School Pep Bands came together for a special joint performance at the Como/Washington vs. Highland Park football game. More than 50 student musicians filled an entire section of the bleachers, energizing the crowd with spirited performances of both schools’ fight songs. This collaboration gave students a unique opportunity to connect with peers from another school, share musical traditions, and perform as one united ensemble.

The Washington High School Pep Band is directed by Dan Perelstein, and the Como Park High School Pep Band is directed by Katie Miller.

The afternoon also featured a powerful rendition of the National Anthem performed by the Como Park Choir, under the direction of Huy Tran.
